Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Kirsten has lived in England and in the U.S.A. She has been a U.S. citizen for 30 years. Growing up in Denmark, Kirsten experienced first hand the intricacies of fashion and design. She was apprenticed to the outstanding department store of the day, Chrome & Goldschmidt.
At the age of 18, Kirsten won an award for the design of a hat, which became a best seller at that time. Already a talented and accomplished seamstress, Kirsten wanted to expand her horizons so she went to live in England for a year to learn the language. There she met her husband-to-be and the couple were married in the English Church in Copenhagen the following year.
The years in Copenhagen turned out to be eventful. Kirsten represented Estee Lauder and introduced this American company to Denmark. That led to a long and warm relationship with the Lauder family. In 1969, Kirsten and her husband John transferred to New York. They relocated to Naples, Florida, in 1982, and after a period of enjoying the sun and sand, the couple bought a retail store on Third Street in Olde Naples.
It was on a buying trip that Kirsten first saw Moroccan style clothing and was duly impressed. That was the beginning of a relationship that continues to this day.
Our garments are produced to meet our own internally developed high standards. Fabric quality, construction details, style, and sizing are constantly being reviewed and improved to make our designs timeless, continuing to increase the loyalty of our growing clientele.
